Spoilers, in the end it turns out the shadowborn sabotage all your work and have pretty much destroyed the commonwealth. You crush the fairy loving elves with tanks and musketeer spam and have successfully unified the world There are no food shortages as machines fuelled with manacells and equality, technological progress, and industrialization is everywhere. You unify the commonwealth under your banner as you are crowned emperor and march to the capital of the elven court with your war engines. Once you overthrow the emperor, surprise your orc friend betrays you and explains that you would be just as bad or even worse as an emperor. Your rogue friend says he is going to “help” you (remember he’s a torchbearer). You march to the emperor’s summer palace to overthrow him. ![]() You meet some dwarf theocrat his says that someone should be you. You then realize that the emperor is an idiot and someone should replace him. They realize they were being played, blah blah, and the campaign ends with Edward thinking of the shadowborn threat while at a party with all his lady friends. Julia and Sundren talk some sense into the king, and you talk some sense into the emperor while they are in chains. With the help of Sundren’s army and Merlin’s magical powers you are able to capture and imprison the king of the Elven court, and the emperor of the commonwealth as they try to kill each other and you. Since you technically have no more commonwealth support, you go with your orc friend to get allies. You also meet Sundren (the main character of the other campaign, daughter of the king of the elven court and Julia) and you agree to try to stop the war and the shadowborn plan. You then meet the leader of the torchbearers, Merlin (who has been “executed” at the end of AOW2shadowmagic, turns out Julia lied about this). It also turns out that the cult you were dealing with in the beginning were also shadowborn. Valery leaves in disgust of your treason and you help Laryssa kill the draconian who is a shadowborn agent. She then explains that she’s working for a group called the torchbearers. She explains there is a third force called the shadowborn who want to bring about the old ways of magic and chaos everywhere and stuff by pitting the two empires against each other in war and create chaos. I’ll do listen first as I think it’s canon. You then get a choice to either kill Laryssa or listen to what she says. You then meet some sketchy draconian (can’t remember his name either). You get there and meet some orc rogue (can’t remember his name) who wants to help you. The emperor orders you to kill his own niece and reclaim the core. Apparently your friend Laryssa has taken it and fled to the west, at the ruins of an ancient shadow gate. After defeating the traitors, you try to find the mana core only to find it missing. It turns out they were going to use the power to make a dwarven focused empire or something, aspiring to be like the elven court. Once you attack the rebel, surprise, the two other dwarves betray you. ![]() You go with Valery to his base and demand it back while the two other dwarves “guard” your backs. One of the dwarves has his own plans for the mana core and takes it for himself. ![]() You manage to obtain the mana core and are ordered to send it to three Dwarven dreadnaughts so they can help in harnessing its power. You’re inspired by Valery for forsaking her own kin and helping the world (commonwealth) instead. An elven commonwealth loyalist named Valery aids you. You think that this is the work of the Elven court.įollowing your success, you are then ordered to obtain a mana core (basically a power source that’s a mix of magic and science) from some place that I forgot. You defeat the rebellion and Laryssa is concerned that the uprising is due to a shadowy cult. There you meet your sorcerer childhood friend Laryssa (sp?) who is also the niece of the commonwealth emperor. You are sent north to quell an uprising near Frostling lands. You believe that the commonwealth truly stands for equality for all, and that science and industrialization will fix all the worlds problems. You play as Edward Portsmith, a dreadnaught hero who believes in the commonwealth (which is actually quite corrupt, and the principles it was founded on are lost in favour of pro-human and anti-nonhuman agendas). There is an uneasy peace between the two empires. They were originally split because of their views on humanity, which overthrew their old empire in the valley of wonders. Elven Court – Unification of Wood Elves and Dark Elves of the past games into a single race called High Elves. Commonwealth – human centric empire that values technology, advancement, industrialism, knowledge, etc. Warning Major spoilers follow:įirst off, the two rival factions. Bored at work so I’ll write what I remember of the commonwealth campaign.
